Corporate Social Responsibility

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) is bringing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the forefront of its business. JLA is building upon the previous ad-hoc community activities which will now be co-odinated through the CSR approach going forward.

The aim of CSR at JLA is to build, engage and develop relationships between the Airport and key stakeholders such as local communities and businesses. Below are a few CSR initiatives which will help JLA to achieve this aim.

JLA Corporate Social Responsibility Report

The report contains information on what the Airport has achieved in terms of supporting local communities, working with key stakeholders to add value to the region and working with employees to ensure they have the right skills and support they need to do their job. The report also highlights the Airport's efforts in minimising its impact on the environment.

Charitable giving at JLA has recently been reorganised by involving employees in the charity selection process. The Airport conducted an employee charity vote and from a shortlist of 12 charities, which had derived from an employee Charity Panel, employees had the opportunity to vote on four charities of their choice.

'Dear John' - The Airport's Community Newsletter

Dear John

Following the feedback which JLA received from the Airport's Master Plan consultation and a subsequent commitment by the Airport to improve communication with the local community, JLA published a community newsletter ‘Dear John'. The newsletter highlighted various Airport developments and a variety of local community events which the Airport had supported. Dear John was distributed to all homes in Speke and Hale Village, as these are communities on the boundary of the Airport.
