Harry Goodwin

Born in Manchester in 1924, Harry Goodwin started his working life in his father's bookmaking business. After serving in the armed forces during World War II Harry's passion for photography took over his life. In 1964 Harry became the official photographer for "Top of The Pops" and continued until 1973, having photographed some of the most famous and successful stars in the music industry. Now in his 80's, Harry is fit and well and enjoying his new found notoriety.

Harry Goodwin's Legends exhibition arrived from a collection of his extensive photography archive. The exhibition features Harry's top 100 renowned icons of the rock and roll era of the 60's and 70's as well as sporting stars and celebrities associated with the North West.

The Legends exhibition adorns the walls near to Gates 3 and 4 within the departure lounge. You can also visit Harry's photography exhibition of the Beatles which is located at the western end of the departure lounge opposite Gate 31. Here you will discover Harry's exclusive collection of Beatles images. Each Beatle has an area dedicated to them and it is within these areas you'll notice the unique relationship Harry had with the band.
