Fast Lane

Take the FAST LANE through to security and save time rather than waiting in queues!

Whilst the Airport makes every effort to keep queues to a minimum, for short periods at peak times, queues can develop due to the volumes of passengers and their belongings being security screened.

However, all passengers departing on domestic and international flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport now have the option to purchase a ticket in order to reduce the time they spend waiting in security queues and and enjoy a quicker passage through to the departure lounge and all its amenities.

Pre-book your Fast Lane ticket online today for only £2.50 per passenger... Simply click on the link below to pre-book and print your Fast Lane ticket at home before you get to the airport. What better way to maximise your time spent at the airport before your journey?

Tickets cost £3.00 per person (including children and infants) when purchased at a number of pay stations located throughout the terminal building, displaying the FastLane logo. All pay stations accept sterling and there are two Euro pay stations. Additionally, all pay stations accept major credit and debit cards (except American Express) and can provide receipts if required. Unused tickets are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Having purchased a ticket for each person travelling, passengers can then use their ticket to gain access through a dedicated barrier system on level 3 prior to security, in order to proceed rapidly through to the passenger search area. Just look for the FastLane logos. Staff will be on hand at the barriers to answer any questions or to help those requiring assistance.

Obviously at peak times, a Fast Lane ticket cannot guarantee that you won't have to wait in a queue. Your queuing time time will be shorter when compared to the standard passenger queue and Liverpool John Lennon Airport will always attempt to ensure that your wait time is kept as short as possible.

Passengers must ensure that they arrive at their departure gate at the published boarding time as stated by their airline.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why has LJLA introduced this optional charge?

The Airport believes that many passengers are prepared to pay a small fee in order to avoid waiting in a lengthy queue that can develop at peak times, to access Security.

2. What will I get for my ticket?

Your ticket will allow entry through a separate channel into the security screening area, bypassing the standard passenger queue. Revenue generated from Fast Lane tickets will then be re-invested back into further enhancing the security search area. Whether it be expanding the area of the search comb, or contributing to the purchase of new equipment, the Fast Lane charges are all going towards reducing the overall wait time for all passengers.

3. How will it work?

Ticket machines are located throughout the terminal to ensure easy access to all passengers. Having purchased a ticket, passengers access the security screening area via turnstiles located on the level 3 of the terminal building. These turnstiles are easily identified with the FastLane logo. Simply insert the ticket into one of the machines and proceed through to the security screening area.

4. If this scheme is popular, will I still have to wait in a queue?

Buying a Fast Lane ticket does not guarantee that you won't have to wait in a queue, however, your queuing time will still be shorter when compared to the standard passenger queue and Liverpool John Lennon Airport will always attempt to ensure that your wait time is kept as short as possible.

5. Having purchased a ticket do I need to pass through to the FastLane immediately?

No. However passengers must allow sufficient time to arrive at their departure gate at the published boarding time as stated by their airline.

6. Will I avoid the security screening area by using this scheme?

No. Once passengers enter the security screening area they will be subject to the same rigorous security checks that all passengers must undertake. The same restrictions on items not allowed in hand luggage and limits on the size and type of liquids also still apply.

7. Will I have to join another queue to purchase my ticket?

No, tickets can be bought from a number of machines located throughout the terminal.

8. I have already paid for priority boarding from the airline I am travelling with, does this give me access to the FastLane facility?

No. This is separate to any airline priority boarding scheme which takes place at the departure gate having already passed through Airport security.

9. Does this ticket also entitle me to priority boarding with the airline I am flying with?

No. This is separate to any airline priority boarding scheme which takes place at the departure gate. Priority boarding is purchased separately from the airline if available.

10. Do I get a refund if my flight is cancelled?

No, but your ticket will remain valid until your next flight from LJLA
