Traffic & Travel News

Before setting off, Liverpool John Lennon Airport strongly recommends you check the latest traffic and travel news and allow plenty of time to reach the airport.

You may find the BBC's local websites helpful:

Silver Jubilee Bridge Roadworks

The maintenance works on the Silver Jubilee Bridge are continuing and the next phase of overnight and weekend lane closures has commenced.

Due to delays with the current phase of works, it will now be necessary to have weekend lane closures from 27 January 2012 for the next 10 weeks.

There will also be overnight lane closures during the same period. This will involve the closure of two lanes on the bridge with single lane running in each direction (19:00 hours to 06:00hrs). These overnight lane closures will be required on an intermittent basis until March 2012.

The maintenance work being undertaken is essential to ensure the integrity of the bridge and traffic disruption, particularly at weekends, is likely.

Halton Borough Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
