Amsterdam

Amsterdam is probably the most popular destination for flights to Holland, and it's not hard to see why.  There's plenty to see and do here, and no matter what your interests are, there's plenty to keep you entertained.

Many visitors book their flights to Holland to visit the famous museums and galleries in Amsterdam.  The Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmueum, Anne Frank's House, Museum het Rembrandthuis, and the Amsterdam Historical Museum are all well worth visiting whilst you're here.

Amsterdam is world famous for it's nightlife. The "brown cafes", which are the authentic Dutch pubs are all over the city, and some of the most popular can be found at Zeedijk near Central Station, and at Utrechtestraat, Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, which are areas popular with the many visitors who choose to book flights to Holland.

No modern city is complete without fantastic shopping facilities, and Amsterdam is no exception, which is one of the reasons why so many people book flights to Holland every year.  There are over 10 000 shops to buy from in the city.  The main areas are Kalverstraat and Leidsestraat.  There are also many designer stores in the museum district. You'll want the Speigelkwartier if you're looking for antiques. De 9 Straatjes, The 9 Streets area, is full of unique shops, and a great area to relax and dine in too.   You'll want to make sure that you visit the markets as well.  Remember that Amsterdam is famous for diamonds too, so if you're looking for jewellery in general, or want something in particular, then you're sure to be able to find what you want.

You'll also want to make sure that you've booked your flights to Holland, and are planning your itinerary, you make some time to visit the Jordaan district and the Royal Palace whilst you're here.  The famous Amerstam Red Light District is now also home to many budding artists and designers, and offers lots of exhibition space to show off incredible works of art.

Rotterdam

There's more to the Netherlands than Amsterdam, so why not book your flights to Holland and visit Rotterdam?  There are lots of events and festivals on all year round, and so there's plenty to see and do no matter when you come here.

You'll want to spend some time in the markets of the old quays, and shopping in the Witte de Withstraat, Van Oldebarneveldstraat, Meent, Oude Binnenweg, and Nieuwe Binnenweg areas.

Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe, and so there's always something going on down on the waterfront.  Why not explore more of the city by taking a boat trip around the harbour?  You'll also want to see the Erasmus Bridge, which is probably the most talked about in Holland, even more so than those in Amsterdam.  The Erasmus Bridge is 800m long and connects the north and south, and was opened in 1996.  It has 50m clearance to allow ships to pass.

As well as shopping and the port, Rotterdam offers incredible architecture too.  If you like buildings you won't want to miss the Van Nelle Building, Cube Houses, Hotel New York, or the Kop van Zuid.  If you're more of a flier than a sailor, you'll love the fact that flights to Holland can see you in Rotterdam quicker than a ferry.

The Euromast offers incredible views of the city and beyond.  It's 185 metres tall, and has a restaurant so you can look out on the city whilst you dine.  It's even possible to abseil down it too.

Rotterdam is home to the Netherlands Art Institute, and it's unsurprising to learn that this is a very artistic city.  If you're artistic, or enjoy art, you'll definitely want to make sure that you can get flights to Holland an experience this incredible city for yourself.

With many clubs and places to eat and drink, Rotterdam is also known for its nightlife and restaurants.  Whether you're looking for a café for lunch to help you refuel after a hard morning spent shopping, or a restaurant in the evening, then you'll find somewhere suitable here. If you're looking for a weekend away with a difference, then why not book flights to Holland, and have a night out in Rotterdam?

If all the culture and shopping has left you worn out, why not visit the Rotterdam zoo, and be entertained by the animals?

The Hague

The Hague is the capital of the Netherlands, although many tourist flights to Holland go to Rotterdam or Amsterdam instead.

There's a lot to see and do here, such as the Maudromdam model village, and the amazing Panorama Mesdag cylindrical painting, which dates from 1881, and is the largest painting in Holland at 160m².  The Hague is also home to the National Dance Theatre, which puts on many performances each year.

Like Amsterdam and Rotterdam, The Hague offers amazing shopping, whether you're looking for designer stores or mainstream shops.  You'll want to visit the, Haagsche Bluf shopping centre, and De Frederik Hendriklaan , or the Fred as it’s known as to the residents. The Hague’s Statenkwartier, Prinsestraat and nearby streets are perfect if you're looking for antiques, collectibles, as well as designer items and souvenirs of your time here.

Perhaps surprisingly, you'll find the Scheveningen and Kijkduin beach resorts just outside of the Hague.  If you want to combine a city break with a beach holiday, you might just have found your perfect destination.

There are lots of other towns and villages that can be reached by flights to Holland, and if shopping or sightseeing isn't your thing, you'll still have a great time in Holland. As it's so flat, Holland is a popular destination for cyclists.
