On Arrival at the Airport

On arrival at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, departing passengers will need to check in (if they haven't already done so online) and pass through Security, before they reach the Departure Lounge. Passengers should ensure they are ready to board and at the relevant Departure Gate at the published time.

Checking in Online

Some airlines now permit passengers to check in for their flights online. Airlines apply their own policies and rules for online check in, for example, some airlines permit online check in for passengers with hand luggage only.  For further information regarding checking in online please contact your airline direct or via their website.

Those passengers checking in online will not need to check in at the airport check in desks. On arrival at the airport, simply proceed directly to Security. Please ensure you follow instructions from your airline carefully, and have any relevant paperwork and valid passport/photographic ID with you.

Passengers checking in online are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure they arrive at the Departure Gate at the published boarding time, and are advised to allow sufficient time to pass through Security. Liverpool John Lennon Airport recommends that passengers arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to departure.

Passengers checking in online will be subject to the same security and baggage rules as all other passengers. For more information about Baggage Restrictions and security, please click here.

Fast Lane

Why not make your journey through Liverpool John Lennon Airport even quicker, and take the FAST LANE to security and save time rather than waiting in queues!

Whilst the Airport makes every effort to keep queues to a minimum, for short periods at peak times, queues can develop due to the volumes of passengers and their belongings being security screened.

All passengers now have the option to purchase a Fast Lane ticket in order to reduce the time spent waiting in security queues and enjoy a quicker passage to the departure lounge. And if you decide not to use the ticket, it's valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
