In 2016 Liverpool John Lennon Airport, in partnership with South Liverpool Homes, launched its first Cadet Firefighting Programme which was aimed to help provide young members of the local community an invaluable experience and gain skills in firefighting.
Following the success of our previous programmes, we are pleased to announce that applications for 3 Cadet Firefighters to join our Rescue & Firefighting Service (RFFS) for 2018’s programme are now open.
We want to find exceptional people to join our Firefighting service. Are you, aged 18-29 and driven, enthusiastic, and flexible and work well within a team? Do you want to do something a little different? Would you like to work within a fast-paced, dynamic environment and help maintain the safety of the 4 million plus passengers that pass through Liverpool John Lennon Airport every year? If you feel you have the skills and qualities to become a Cadet Firefighter then we would like to hear from you!
To help shed some light on the application process, we’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions about recruitment and what we are looking for in a future Firefighter.
Our Firefighters come from a wide range of backgrounds. We caught up with last year’s recruits who have shared their story about what led them to apply for the position and how they find life on Station.
*Please be advised that preference will be given to applicants who live within our local community.
