Apprenticeships

Liverpool John Lennon Airport has run an apprenticeship scheme since 2013, giving a number of young people the opportunity to undertake an apprentice programme within the Engineering team. The scheme was through the National Apprenticeship Service which works with employers looking to recruit apprentices.

We continually look to develop new apprenticeship roles within the Airport; this has included Finance Apprentices, two Engineering Apprenticeship roles, the UK's first Environment Apprentice in 2017 (Pictured below) and a Security Compliance Apprentice in 2018. In 2019 we welcomed an Air Traffic Engineering Apprentice taking our current number of Apprentices up to seven.

The Airport has also embarked on a wider Apprenticeship programme aimed at improving the skill levels of existing employees. On this programme, almost 30 members of staff take part in a Team Leading Adult Apprenticeship, working with local training provider Sysco.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport are extremely proud to offer these unique opportunities for young people in our local community and wider city region.

Our work placement schemes run periodically throughout the year with positions published on our Careers pages and on social media.  Please check these pages for more information, or sign up to our newsletter for job notifications
