Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) will see the return of flights to Shannon in Ireland following the news that Ryanair are to commence flights for Summer 2018.
easyJet has today announced that it is to operate a further three new routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) as a further sign of its continued commitment to the Airport, bringing its total number of destinations from JLA to 32.
Passengers can now book flights with easyJet from Liverpool to Salzburg in Austria, the Belgian capital Brussels and Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.
easyJet’s new six-times-weekly service to Brussels is the airline’s first to the European capital from the UK and will commence on 7 February 2011. The city is the administrative centre of the European Union, earning it the title of ‘The Capital of Europe’ and a destination likely to prove popular with the region’s business community.
The region’s Winter sports enthusiasts are also likely to welcome the addition of easyJet’s weekly flight to Salzburg which follows hot on the heels of the airline’s previous announcements of flights to Grenoble and Lyon from Liverpool. With flights to Innsbruck operating once again, skiers now have a great choice of low cost destinations available from Liverpool with easyJet. The inaugural flight to Salzburg will be the first of the new ski routes to launch on 17 December followed by Lyon on 18 December and Grenoble on 8 January. All three new ski routes will operate up until April 2011.
The new service to Tallinn brings yet another country and capital city to be directly linked by air with Liverpool. Tallinn is growing in popularity with tourists across Europe and makes for a very affordable short break destination with the three-times-weekly flight to commence on 26 April 2011.
Ali Gayward, UK Commercial Manager of easyJet, says: “The three new routes cater for the full range of passengers that use our service from businesses looking to reduce their travel costs, holidaymakers seeking exciting new destinations or skiers wanting an affordable way to access the slopes.
“The expansion of our Liverpool operation reflects our commitment to providing travellers in the region with the best choice of destinations at the lowest possible fares.”
Nick Smillie, Aviation Sales Director for Peel Airports added, “These latest route announcements reaffirm easyJet’s commitment to the airport and to the region. The additional Salzburg service will further enhance the airport’s choice of ski destinations whilst the much needed link to Brussels – an important European capital city, should prove popular with the region’s business community.”
Flights for all three new routes are now on sale with fares starting from £23.99 for Brussels, £25.99 for Salzburg and £27.99 for Tallinn (all prices one-way, including taxes).
