1. Edinburgh College Glow Festival: 7th May – 30th June 16

Feel inspired as Edinburgh College students light up venues across the city to showcase their creative talents! Glow runs from 7th May to 30th June, with events ranging from music, theatre, dance and make-up artistry to film, photography, art and design.

2. The Edinburgh International Film Festival: 15th June – 26th June 16

From 15th – 26th June, Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) will showcase some of the very best in British, American, European and World cinema. EIFF seeks to spotlight the most exciting and innovative new film talent by hosting a number of must-see events and screenings in celebration of its 70th Edition.

3. The Royal Highland Show: 23rd June – 26th June 16

For four days each June, families flock to the Royal Highland Show to experience the very best Scotland has to offer including food & drink, shopping & fashion, children’s activities, outdoor living & countryside and not forgetting the finest farmyard animals.

4. Retina Scottish International Photography Festival: 24th June – 30th July 16

This year’s 3rd Edition of the Retina Scottish International Photography Festival will showcase over 60 photographers in 15 exhibitions at 8 venues across the city, all to celebrate the very best of photography from around the world!

5. Fashioning a Reign at The Palace of Holyroodhouse: 21st April – 16th Oct 16

In celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th Birthday, three special exhibitions will take place constituting the largest collective display of stunning outfits from her wardrobe. The first exhibition will open at the Palace of Holyroodhouse for her Majesty’s birthday on 21st April.

In total, over 150 outfits worn by The Queen will be presented across the three Palaces, with each special exhibition displaying selection of outfits chosen because of their close association with the location. Further information can be found on the Palace of Holyroodhouse website.
