Mersey Gateway Bridge

The new Mersey Gateway Bridge across the River Mersey is due to open on Saturday 14th October 2017. The existing Silver Jubilee Bridge between Runcorn and Widnes will close and will undergo refurbishment.

The new bridge will mean quicker, easier and more reliable journeys across the River Mersey. There will be a free-flow tolling system meaning there won’t be toll booths along the route, which will help reduce journey times and minimise congestion. For more information, please click here.
