Traffic & Roadworks

If you’re due to fly from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (or have just arrived back!), it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the traffic, roadworks and travel news and weather forecasts for the local area before venturing out on to the roads.

Wherever possible, please plan your journey carefully in advance, taking into account scheduled roadworks. Allow extra time for your journey in case of unexpected traffic or inclement weather and plan an alternative route, just in case. We recommend arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before you're due to depart and we would advise you check the status of your flight beforehand.

Planned Rail Maintenance and Rail Replacement Services 29.04.17-01.05.17

Between Saturday 29 April and Monday 1 May, a bus replacement service will be in operation between Crewe, Runcorn and Liverpool South Parkway, where passengers can connect to the Merseyrail service into Liverpool Central. There will also be bus replacement for passengers travelling between Warrington Central and Newton-le-Willows. Passengers travelling via Hunts Cross will be able to connect to the Merseyrail service to Liverpool Central.
Direct services to Liverpool Lime Street will operate on other routes. Passengers are advised to check before they travel to find the most suitable route.
