From 4am on Monday 18 January 2021, you must have proof of a negative coronavirus (COVID-19) test to travel to England. If you don't present proof of a negative test result certificate, you may not be able to board any form of transport to travel to England. If you arrive in England without proof of a negative test result, you could be fined £500. Click here for further information.
Also the Government introduced a 'Test to Release' scheme from 15th December. Passengers can book a private COVID-19 test from a GOV UK list, which could reduce the time needed to self-isolate after arriving from a country that is not exempt from quarantine restrictions, from 10 to 5 days. With the COVID-19 pandemic still impacting all of our everyday lives, here at Liverpool John Lennon Airport we are delighted to welcome passengers as airline services continue to operate to a host of destinations.
The safety and security of all passengers and employees has always been the Airport’s top priority and throughout this crisis staff have continued to ensure that the passenger journey is as easy and safe as possible.
Passengers can continue to take advantage of Liverpool’s Faster, Easier Friendlier experience, whilst reassured that comprehensive measures are in place to reduce the risk of infection in line with the latest Government guidance.
Our reputation for being a relaxed, hassle free airport environment remains, with plenty of space available to easily facilitate the necessary social distancing and the same quick processing times throughout. You may however notice changes to some of the procedures and the way passengers move through the terminal with the following new measures in place.

Latest Government advice
The UK Government's latest aviation guidance includes advice for passengers on how to travel safely and on how to follow social distancing measures at each stage of their journey.
The guidance to passengers is available here and covers all aspects of the travel experience, from checking the public health requirements before booking a flight, to navigating the airport safely and boarding the flight or leaving the airport.
Practical advice includes wearing face coverings when in the airport, washing hands regularly after touching any surfaces and checking in all baggage including hand luggage.
Please note that The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) continues to advise British people against all non-essential travel to certain destinations worldwide, with rules in place for entering the UK from particular countries because of coronavirus. See here for the latest Government information.
