Although the new KLM service between Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) and Amsterdam is only just over three months old, passengers have already been flying in from countries across all five continents.

KLM commenced their three times daily service from Liverpool to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on 29th March and passengers from around the world have already taken advantage of the worldwide connections available through their Amsterdam hub.

Passengers arriving via Amsterdam include those originating from Beijing, Kuala Lumpur and Manila in Asia, Sydney and Auckland in Australasia, Zambia and Cape Town in Africa, Seattle, San Francisco and New York in North America and a host of European countries.

Over 100 worldwide destinations on KLM’s own intercontinental network and over 650 destinations across KLM’s Skyteam partner networks are available via Schiphol with the new service now connecting the Liverpool City Region, Cheshire and North Wales to the world.

Neil Pakey, Deputy CEO of Peel Airports commented, “We said when this service started that we expected the route to help open up accessibility for passengers in the region, enabling them to travel onwards across the world from their local airport. Clearly this route has also helped passengers from across the world too, with improved accessibility into the region, which is vitally important for both business and tourism markets.”
