Last week, we heard Lee McKittrick win the competition we are sponsoring with Radio City 96.7 'What's That Noise?.' We were really touched by Lee's determination to help his four year old son, Luca overcome some of the challenges that face those with Autism and associated conditions.

Liverpool John Lennon are part of the Autism Charter and work closely alongside organisations such as Autism Together so as part of our ongoing commitment to make Liverpool the first Autism Friendly City, we felt inspired to help Luca in anyway we could.

LJLA have arranged for Luca and his family to have a daytrip to Lapland with Newmarket Holidays where Luca will have a personal meeting with Santa Claus as well as;

A gift from Santa
A snowmobile adventure ride
A Reindeer sleigh ride
A Husky dogs experience
Tobogganing, snowballing and snowman-making
A two-course Lappish lunch

To help Luca prepare for his visit to meet Santa Claus, he will also be popping by to LJLA beforehand for a familiarisation tour as well as the added extras of visiting our Fire Station to meet the Fire Team and see the Fire Engines as well as visiting our Air Traffic Control to watch the planes.

You can hear us talking to Lee here.

At LJLA, we work with passengers with reduced mobility (PRM's) or anyone else who may need assistance in their journey through the Airport to make their experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible. For passengers with Autism, that includes familiarisation visits and guides as well as brightly coloured butterfly vouchers so that our colleagues can interact with passengers in a way which they find comfortable.
